Entering the Twin 50s night with a slim point lead in the championship battle, the DHR driver of Clark Houston knew what he had to do to secure the title: win.
Leading the field to green after setting quick time and earning the Renegade Race Fuels Pole Award, Houston sailed off into turn one and never looked back. The Alps Mtn Affordable Hearing Aid Chevy navigated the first twin 50 out front and under the checkered flag to claim the win and extend the points lead for Houston. In the #29 DHR Toyota and making one of his first starts in a Super Truck, the Southeast Limited Late Models defending champion DJ Canipe brought his machine home 5th in the first feature race.
Headed into the 2nd race with a now comfortable lead in points, Houston and the entire DHR team had one goal in mind: win this championship. They had worked so hard throughout the season to provide Clark with a capable race truck to be up front, so now it came down to the driver to finish the race and secure the title. Starting behind the front row, the #6 wasted no time getting to the front and in control of the race. When a yellow flag came out with 10 to go, Houston and Canipe would go on to line up 1-2 for the upcoming restart. Houston jumped on the throttle and led Dwight Huffman Racing to a 1-2 finish to close out the Southeast Super Trucks Season, along with Clark Houston claiming his first career SEST Championship.
